Job description

Long-Term Teachers have an excellent opportunity to work as a teaching assistant at a fantastic provision for students with additional needs. As a teaching assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting pupils who have had difficulty thriving in mainstream schools, special schools, or are returning from out-of-county placements.

Every child receives a high level of support, often including one-to-one support and bespoke timetables following thematic learning experiences. A wide range of personalized learning in and out of the classroom is designed to engage students, build resilience, and provide the foundation for rapid academic progress.

We are looking for three full-time teaching assistants to join the wonderful team in Plymouth. These positions are to start as soon as possible!

To be successful as a teaching assistant, you will need:

• To hold a current DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
• Confidence working within small groups and 1:1
• Relevant experience working with children (or adults) with special educational needs
• A passion for working with children and young people in SEN settings
• Have a full UK driving license and your own vehicle
• Minimum of Level 2 qualification or equivalent

This role is ideal for someone with experience in a SEN setting and a desire to develop further. It may also suit individuals with backgrounds in healthcare, support work, or sports coaching. You will receive support for professional development and overall wellbeing.
