Join Our Team as an SEN 1:1 Support Assistant with Vision for Education!

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with additional needs? Vision for Education is looking for dedicated SEN 1:1 Support Assistants to work with students who have Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs). This is a fantastic opportunity to provide personalised support to students with a range of needs, including Autism, ADHD, and emotional or behavioural challenges, helping them thrive in a school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 Support: Tailor your approach to each student’s unique needs as outlined in their EHCP, supporting both their academic and personal development.

Collaborate with the Team: Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to adapt strategies that meet the individual needs of each student.

Create an Inclusive Learning Environment: Create a safe, welcoming, and engaging atmosphere where students feel valued and supported.

Implement Positive Behaviour Strategies: Use trauma-informed practices and positive behaviour management to help students manage emotions and behaviours.

Track Progress: Maintain accurate records of student progress, challenges, and any incidents, ensuring clear communication with the wider support team.

What We’re Looking For:

Experience with SEN Students: Ideally, you’ll have experience working with children or young people with additional needs, particularly those with EHCPs.

Understanding of SEN Conditions: Familiarity with Autism, ADHD, and trauma-related behaviours, and confidence in using tailored support strategies.

Great Communication Skills: The ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.

Patience & Resilience: A passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning and a genuine desire to see them succeed.

Commitment to Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and a dedication to maintaining a safe environment for all students.

Relevant Qualifications: Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistant, Childcare, or Health & Social Care are a bonus but not essential.

What We Offer:

Competitive Pay: Enjoy weekly payments with competitive rates.

Professional Development: Access to ongoing training, including specialised SEN training to enhance your skills.

Supportive Team: Work with a dedicated team at Vision for Education to ensure your placement experience is positive and rewarding.

Flexible Hours: We offer flexible working arrangements to fit your schedule.

About Us:

At Vision for Education, we celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment. We welcome applications from all sections of the community, and we do not discriminate based on age, gender, race, colour, religion, disability, or sexual orientation.

If you're passionate about making a lasting impact on students with additional needs and are ready to join a supportive, rewarding environment, we’d love to hear from you!
