Job summary

Empowering Learning is seeking Supply Teaching Assistants to work across primary schools in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. You will support teachers, help manage behaviour, and assist with both academic and emotional development of children.

Job Description

We are currently seeking passionate and dedicated Supply Teaching Assistants to work across a variety of primary schools in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

As a Supply Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting classroom teachers and helping to ensure the smooth running of lessons, assisting with the academic and emotional development of children.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities.
  • Assisting with the management of classroom behaviour, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Working with small groups or individual students to provide targeted support.
  • Helping to prepare learning materials and resources.
  • Offering pastoral care to children, helping them develop both academically and socially.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working with children in a primary school setting (either as a teaching assistant or in a similar role).
  • A passion for supporting young learners and a commitment to helping children reach their full potential.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with both staff and pupils.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with a proactive approach to assisting in the classroom.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent) would be an advantage, but not essential.
