Job summary

Randstad Education in Plymouth is seeking a Supply Teaching Assistant to join our flexible hours team. You decide which days you work, with shifts from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, and no weekend work, supporting pupils across local schools.

The role offers competitive daily pay between £92.56 and £95.00, variety across primary, secondary, and special schools, and a chance to help learners while balancing your personal commitments.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 months of experience working or volunteering with children or young people in the UK.
• Positive, quick-thinking attitude ready to jump into new school environments.
• Punctuality and strong communication skills.
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) and suitable professional references.

Responsibilities

• Supporting class teachers to deliver engaging, structured lessons.
• Working 1-on-1 or in small groups with pupils who need extra guidance with literacy, numeracy, or confidence.
• Managing classroom dynamics and creating a positive, inclusive learning environment.
• Assisting with playground supervision and general classroom preparation.
