Job summary

Longvernal Primary School is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join our early years team. The role supports planned activities, assists with classroom routines and helps nurture a positive learning atmosphere.

The successful candidate will work under the Early Years Lead/Nursery Manager to implement programmes, engage with parents and contribute to Forest School activities when appropriate.

  • Experience or interest in early years Forest School practices.

We are looking for someone who is a self-starter, able to work on their own initiative and has a commitment to excellent early years working practices and an awareness of Forest School practice. We need someone who is committed to a close knit school with all the opportunities and challenges that brings.The successful candidate will work under the guidance of the Early Years Lead/Nursery Manager to implement agreed work programmes in or out of the classroom. Confidence and experience at communicating with parents would be an advantage.At Longvernal School we pride ourselves on our happy friendly atmosphere and on the level of pastoral care that we provide for all our learners. The successful applicant will not only work with us to raise standards of achievement but will also be welcomed into and be expected to work with us to enhance this ethos. Ideally, we are looking for someone who already has a Nursery Nurse or Early Years qualification.
