Job summary

Long Term Futures is recruiting a confident KS2 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming junior school in Haringey this November. You’ll provide a combination of general classroom support and targeted SEN assistance, helping pupils across Key Stage 2 develop confidence, independence and stronger academic skills.

The ideal candidate will have primary TA experience and SEN exposure, a solid grasp of KS2 English and Maths, and the ability to balance whole-class duties with individual pupil needs

Qualifications

• Previous primary school Teaching Assistant experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEN is essential.
• Good understanding of the KS2 curriculum.
• Confident supporting English and Maths.
• Able to balance whole-class responsibilities with individual pupil needs.
• Patient, adaptable and proactive within a busy classroom.
• Strong communication and positive behaviour management skills.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning across KS2 (Years 3-6)
• Provide general classroom assistance alongside the class teacher
• Deliver targeted 1:1 and small-group SEN support
• Help pupils access English, Maths and wider curriculum lessons
• Support children with additional learning, attention or communication needs
• Deliver literacy and numeracy interventions where required
• Encourage positive behaviour, independence and classroom engagement
• Adapt resources and activities to individual learning levels
• Work closely with teachers and the SENCo to monitor progress

Location: Crouch End, Haringey, N8 (commutable from Hornsey, Muswell Hill, Wood Green, Finsbury Park and Highgate)

Pay: 110- 120 per day

Start Date: November 2026

Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary
