Job summary

Horizon Teachers is a specialist education recruitment agency working with inclusive primary schools in Lewisham. We are seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with a range of additional needs on a day-to-day and long-term basis.

This is a rewarding role helping children access learning and develop in warm, supportive classrooms. Your responsibilities include 1:1 and small group support, with emphasis on positive behaviour and inclusive learning environments.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with SEN.
• Patient, empathetic and proactive approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
• Relevant qualifications or training desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN.
• Supporting children with needs such as Autism, ADHD, speech & language difficulties, and SEMH.
• Assisting the class teacher with differentiated learning activities.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement.
• Helping create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
