Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils across EYFS to KS2 in multiple locations in the region. You will assist with engaging lessons, provide one-to-one and small-group interventions, and help maintain a positive, safe classroom environment. DBS update service eligibility is required or a willingness to obtain one.

The role offers full-time, long-term opportunities with ongoing local consultant support and access to CPD.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people.
  • Enthusiastic, patient and nurturing approach.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain a new DBS through Teaching Personnel.

Teaching Assistant

Location: Launceston, Callington, Okehampton and Tavistock

Position: Full-Time Primary Teaching Assistant

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Ongoing with potential for permanent opportunities

The Role
  • Support pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and creative lessons.
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group interventions.
  • Help create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support children with varying learning abilities and additional needs.
  • Encourage pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
Requirements
  • Have experience working with children or young people.
  • Be enthusiastic, patient and nurturing.
  • Have strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Hold a DBS registered on the Update Service, or be willing to complete a new DBS through Teaching Personnel.
  • Previous experience within a primary school setting is advantageous but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
