Location: Torton, Kidderminster
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent and 12-month Fixed Term Contract available (Term Time Only)
Hours: 40 hours per week
Hourly Rate: £12.37 - £13.49
Annual Salary: £22,102.72 - £24,103.93 (Actual Salary)
About the Role:
Our client, a specialist independent day school based in Kidderminster, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive and inclusive setting that caters to children and young people with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, and associated learning difficulties.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students' learning and well-being, both inside and outside the classroom. You will work closely with teachers, therapists, and other staff to deliver personalised support and ensure that each student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual and group support to students under the guidance of teaching staff
Help to implement learning activities and interventions tailored to individual student needs
Support pupils in developing confidence, independence, and positive behaviour
Assist with the preparation of classroom resources and learning materials
Promote a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
Ideal Candidate:
Experience working with children or young people with additional or special educational needs is desirable
A proactive, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting learning
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues
Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent) are an advantage but not essential
