TEACHING ASSISTANT

FROM MONDAY 1st September 2025

Our Governors wish to appoint one experienced Teaching Assistant with experience working with SEND children, on a 1:1 and small group basis with children within our upper key stage 2 setting.

We are looking for practitioners who:

• Enjoy working as part of a team with the ability to work in a range of settings, working with both individual and groups of children with all abilities in a whole class setting as well as withdrawing individuals and small groups for more focused support
• Demonstrate a good understanding of working towards individualised EHCP targets
• Excellent communication skills and patience is essential to give the children the support they need
• The ability to work on their own initiative and be able to help set, monitor and review personalised targets for the children alongside the class teacher and SENDCo
• Show initiative and are proactive in developing the learning of children at St. Bernard’s
• Are committed to contribute fully on our journey of school improvement, going above and beyond to benefit our children
• Has excellent interpersonal and organisational skills to enable them to work well as a member of a hard working family
