Ringstead Church of England Primary School is seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work as part of a team with our teachers to support primary pupils in both learning and pastoral needs. The role involves supervising pupils and assisting the class teacher with implementing pupil education.

We value a welcoming, Christian ethos and encourage CPD, including First Aid and safeguarding training, to support pupils’ welfare and learning.

Teaching Assistant

Contract Type: Fixed term until 31 July 2027.

Pay Grade: Grade D3.

Full Time Salary: £25,614

Actual Salary: £8,711.83

Hours: 15 hours over 5 days per week, 38 weeks per year.

We are seeking to appoint a friendly, enthusiastic, professional Teaching Assistant to work in a team with our teachers, who understands the learning and pastoral needs of primary children. The role would entail supervising and supporting pupils in the learning environment, whilst assisting the teacher with the implementation of pupil education.

We are looking to appoint someone who:

• Is enthusiastic, approachable and friendly

• will ensure all children feel safe, happy and able to learn,

• will create a purposeful, orderly and supportive learning environment

• will support the teacher in management of pupil behaviour and understands how to tackle challenging behaviour in children with respect and understanding, following the school’s Behaviour Policy.

• is supportive of the ethos of a Church and Trust school.

• understands our children and our community and who is able to build supportive and respectful relationships with children whilst maintaining confidentiality and following the school’s Code of Conduct.

• who is prepared to undertake appropriate CPD to develop their skills including First Aid training and annual Safeguarding / Child Protection training.

• understands the importance of Child Protection and is committed to the safeguarding of children’s welfare - both at home and in school.
