Job summary

The Queen Katherine School in Kendal is seeking a focused Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team. You will assist teachers across a variety of subjects, provide targeted help to students with additional needs and contribute to an inclusive classroom environment that values every learner.

We welcome candidates with a genuine passion for helping young people succeed, a collaborative mindset, and strong communication skills. A Level 3 TA qualification (or equivalent) is required.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting students in a classroom setting.
  • Must hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Strong communication with staff and parents is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons across a range of subjects.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support, including for students with additional needs.
  • Help create a positive, inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued.
  • Work closely with staff, parents, and the wider school community to support student progress.

Job description


  • Hours of work: 33 hours per week

  • Working pattern: Monday to Friday

  • Term weeks: 38 + 1 weeks school closure, minimum paid week 44.600

What You’ll Do


  • Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons across a range of subjects.

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support, including for students with additional needs.

  • Help create a positive, inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued.

  • Work closely with staff, parents, and the wider school community to support student progress


What We’re Looking For


  • A passion for supporting young people to achieve their best.

  • Experience working with children or young people (school experience is an advantage).

  • A team player with excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.

  • A relevant Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent demonstrable experience)
