Job summary

Monarch Education is recruiting a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support one of our client primary schools in Bury. You will work closely with teachers and SEN professionals to create a positive, inclusive learning environment, helping pupils reach their potential.

The role involves 1:1 or small-group support, classroom assistance, safeguarding duties, and contributing to resources and activities on a daily basis. Experience in educational settings and an enhanced DBS are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in educational/childcare settings.
• Genuine passion for supporting pupils' learning and development.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a school team.
• Right to work in the UK; enhanced DBS on Update Service or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in the classroom on a 1:1 or small-group basis.
• Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management.
• Support children with SEND and promote positive behaviour.
• Help prepare learning resources and classroom activities.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Promote safeguarding and pupil wellbeing at all times.

Monarch Education is looking to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support one of our client primary schools in Bury.

Essential Requirements

To be considered for this Teaching Assistant position in Bury, you must have:

• Experience working with children or young people in an educational, childcare, coaching, youth work or support setting
• A genuine passion for supporting pupils' learning and development
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to work effectively as part of a school team
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
• The right to work in the UK
• Experience working within a UK School or Youth Setting.

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in helping pupils achieve their potential both academically and socially. You'll work closely with teachers, SEN professionals and school leadership teams to create a positive and supportive learning environment.

Depending on the school and assignment, your responsibilities may include:

• Supporting pupils in the classroom on a one-to-one or small-group basis
• Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management
• Supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
• Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning
• Helping to prepare learning resources and classroom activities
• Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
