Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is working with a popular primary school in the Ramsbottom area of Bury to recruit an enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant for Key Stage 2.

You will join a supportive team dedicated to helping children achieve their potential across English and mathematics, supporting reading, writing and numeracy while nurturing positive learning habits.

Qualifications

• Experience working with primary-aged children.
• Strong literacy and numeracy support for upper primary (KS2).
• Good understanding of classroom expectations and behaviour management.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Positive, proactive attitude with ability to adapt to individual pupils.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning within Years 3-6.
• Deliver targeted support to individuals and small groups.
• Reinforce key concepts in English and mathematics.
• Support reading comprehension, spelling and writing development.
• Help pupils prepare for assessments and classroom activities.
• Support children who may need additional guidance to access lessons.
• Encourage independence, resilience and positive learning habits.
• Work closely with the class teacher to monitor pupil progress.

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children in Key Stage 2?

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working with older primary pupils and can provide effective support across the curriculum.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting teaching and learning within Years 3-6.
• Delivering targeted support to individuals and small groups.
• Reinforcing key concepts in English and mathematics.
• Supporting reading comprehension, spelling and writing development.
• Helping pupils prepare for assessments and classroom activities.
• Supporting children who may need additional guidance to access lessons.

• Working closely with the class teacher to monitor pupil progress.

• Previous experience working with children of primary age.
• Confidence supporting upper primary literacy and numeracy.
