Job description

At Manor House School, every day is an opportunity to make a lasting difference. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll play a vital role in helping children and young people overcome challenges, discover their strengths and achieve things they may never have thought possible. Whether you're supporting a student to take their first steps towards independent learning, helping them build confidence and emotional resilience, or celebrating a breakthrough moment they've worked hard to reach, you'll be there for every milestone along the way. No achievement is too small, and every success is worth celebrating. This is far more than a support role. It's an opportunity to inspire, motivate and empower students to believe in themselves and reach their full potential in a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment. If you're compassionate, patient and passionate about transforming young lives, we'd love to welcome you to our dedicated team and make a difference together. What You’ll Be Doing

  • Inspire and support students every day, whether working in the classroom, in small groups, or providing tailored 1:1 support to help them succeed.
  • Bring learning to life by working alongside teachers to deliver engaging, personalised lessons that meet each student's individual needs.
  • Build meaningful relationships that help students feel safe, understood, valued, and ready to learn.
  • Champion personal growth, encouraging independence, communication skills, emotional wellbeing, and social development.
  • Make a positive impact on behaviour through nurturing, consistent, and supportive approaches.
  • Be part of memorable experiences, supporting educational visits, enrichment activities, and the wider life of the school.
  • Celebrate every success, tracking progress and working closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral teams to help students overcome challenges and reach their goals.
  • Create opportunities to thrive by helping to maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where every student can flourish. You don't need years of SEN experience, we're looking for the right person.
  • GCSE Grade 4/C (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs.
  • Patience, empathy and resilience, even during challenging moments.
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude.
  • The ability to build trusting relationships and inspire confidence.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Driving licence required
