Job summary

Supply Desk in Prestwood, Buckinghamshire, is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils’ learning, development and wellbeing across the curriculum. You’ll work with teachers to deliver engaging lessons, provide 1:1 and small-group support, and help create an inclusive classroom environment.

The role offers flexible hours to fit availability and a supportive team including dedicated education consultants, with DBS checks required and safeguarding duties emphasized.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people in an educational or support setting.
  • Passion for supporting children’s learning, development and wellbeing.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Current enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

  • Support teachers in planning and delivering engaging, inclusive lessons.
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils.
  • Assist pupils with literacy, numeracy, reading, writing and communication skills.
  • Support pupils with a range of learning needs and abilities, adapting activities as required.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, engagement and participation in the classroom.
  • Help create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment for all pupils.
  • Monitor and provide feedback on pupils’ progress to the class teacher.
  • Work with teachers, SENCOs, support staff, parents and other professionals to support pupil progress and wellbeing.
  • Assist with classroom preparation, displays, resources and wider school activities.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.

About the Role

Are you a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school, where you’ll play an important role in supporting pupils’ learning, development, confidence, and wellbeing across the curriculum.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support teachers in planning and delivering engaging, inclusive, and effective lessons.
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils to help develop their knowledge, confidence, and independence.
  • Assist pupils with their literacy, numeracy, reading, writing, and communication skills.
  • Support pupils with a range of learning needs and abilities, adapting activities where required.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and participation within the classroom.
  • Help create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment for all pupils.
  • Monitor and provide feedback on pupils’ progress and engagement to the class teacher.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, support staff, parents, and other professionals to support pupil progress and wellbeing.
  • Assist with classroom preparation, displays, learning resources, and wider school activities where required.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational or support setting.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning, development, and wellbeing.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN is desirable but not essential.
  • A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
