Job summary

Vision for Education are recruiting Teaching Assistants to support pupils across Gloucester and surrounding areas. The role involves working with teachers to aid learning, support pupils with SEN and behavioural needs, and foster inclusive classrooms.

We welcome applicants with experience in education, childcare, care, youth work, coaching or mentoring. An Enhanced DBS is required or willing to apply, with suitable references and safeguarding checks. Immediate start available.

Teaching Assistant

Pay: £14.24 per hour+
Location: Gloucester
Full Time | Part Time | Term Time | Ongoing

Are you looking to work in a school and make a difference to children and young people's day-to-day learning? Vision for Education are looking for enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join schools across Gloucester and the surrounding area.

Whether you already have experience as a Teaching Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or Classroom Assistant, or you have worked with children through childcare, care, youth work, sports or coaching, we would like to hear from you.

Immediate Start

The Teaching Assistant Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other school staff to support pupils in the classroom. Depending on the school and your experience, this could include working with pupils who have SEN, SEND, Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, communication difficulties, learning difficulties or behavioural needs.

You could be involved in:

• Supporting pupils individually or in small groups
• Helping children access their learning and complete classroom activities
• Providing additional support to pupils who need extra encouragement
• Helping manage behaviour and promote positive routines
• Supporting social, emotional and communication development
• Building positive relationships with pupils
• Working alongside teachers, SENCOs and wider support teams
• Helping create a positive and inclusive classroom environment

Previous school experience is helpful, but full training and support are available for candidates with the right attitude and transferable experience.

You will need an Enhanced DBS or be willing to apply for one, alongside suitable references and the required safeguarding checks.
