Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd is seeking Classroom Support Assistants to work in schools across Bristol, Stonehouse and surrounding areas, supporting pupils with SEND and other needs.

You may work 1:1 or in small groups, helping pupils engage in lessons, develop confidence and learning habits, and support teachers with inclusive practice.

Roles are full-time, part-time or flexible, with weekly PAYE pay, term-time contracts and opportunities for permanent positions. Immediate start available.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children and young people in school settings.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service preferred or willingness to obtain one.
• Excellent communication and ability to work as part of a team with teachers and support staff.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils 1:1 or in small groups.
• Assist pupils to engage with lessons and classroom activities.
• Collaborate with teachers, TAs and SEN staff to implement plans.
• Promote positive behaviour and supportive learning environments.

Pay: £14.24 per hour

About the Role

As a Classroom Support Assistant, you could work across primary and specialist settings, supporting pupils with SEND, SEN, Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, learning difficulties, speech and language needs and behavioural needs.

Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:

• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
• Helping children engage with lessons and classroom activities
• Working alongside teachers, Teaching Assistants and SEN staff
• Encouraging positive behaviour and good learning habits
• Supporting pupils with communication, social and emotional needs
• Helping children develop confidence, independence and resilience
• Following individual support plans and school strategies
• Creating a calm, safe and inclusive classroom environment

Who We're Looking For

This role would suit someone who is:

• Passionate about working with children and young people
• Patient, reliable and approachable
• Confident building positive relationships with pupils
• A good communicator and team player
• Able to remain calm when supporting challenging behaviour
• Experienced in education, childcare, care, youth work, sports coaching or similar settings — although this is not essential
• Interested in developing a career as a Teaching Assistant, SEN TA, Learning Support Assistant or support worker

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is preferred, or you must be willing to obtain one.
