Job summary

Severn Vale School in Gloucester, Gloucestershire, is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join our SEND Department and support students with a range of needs to help them learn, develop abilities and raise self-esteem.

The role offers a permanent contract, 39 weeks pro rata hours, and a salary in the range £24,796 to £28,598 FTE depending on qualifications. The successful candidate will be adaptable, build strong relationships with learners and work as part of a supportive team.

Qualifications

• GCSE qualifications at Grade 4+ (or equivalent) required.
• Experience supporting SEND students is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support students with a range of needs in the SEND department.
• Assist with learning activities and classroom routines.
• Contribute to raising achievement and self-esteem.

We are looking to appoint a dynamic Learning Partner to our wonderful SEND Department. The role is to support students with a range of needs that may include cognition and learning, communication and interaction, sensory and physical, and SEMH. You will be part of the team that helps them learn, develop their abilities, and raise their self-esteem.

• Has a knowledge of SEND and understands how to support learners
• Is flexible and versatile
• Has the ability to use their own initiative and adopt practices as necessary
• Has high expectations for all students and an ability to motivate and inspire confidence in students

Salary: Grade F, Point 6 - 12 (Qualified) £25,989 - £28,598 (full time equivalent)

Grade D, Point 3 - 6 (Unqualified) £24,796 - £25,989 (full time equivalent)

Pro-rata salary will be dependent on hours. Pay award pending.

Hours: 39 weeks per year, hours can be negotiated
