Job summary

Oakfield Academy in Frome, Somerset, seeks a proactive Teaching Assistant to support teaching and learning. The role is 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term-time only plus INSET days, with a salary starting at £13.05 per hour and incremental progression.

You will work with teachers to deliver learning, support pupils 1:1 or in groups, and help with resources and assessment while ensuring a safe classroom environment. DBS required and right to work in the UK essential.

Qualifications

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade C (4) or above.
  • Proven ability to work using own initiative under guidance of a teacher.
  • Strong communication skills with children and adults.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and positive environment for all learners.
  • Create opportunities for all learners to reach their potential.
  • Work with class teachers to deliver teaching and learning.
  • Support pupils in interventions from literacy and numeracy programmes to Forest School.
  • Support pupils on a 1:1 or group basis.
  • Assist with assessment and evidencing learning.
  • Help teachers create stimulating learning resources.
  • accompany pupils on trips.

This role is varied, and we are looking for an adaptable, flexible and resourceful individual able to cope in a high-pressure environment and deal with constantly changing priorities.This post is for 30 hours per week from Monday to Friday between the hours of 8.25am - 4.00pm, term time only plus 5 x INSET days. The salary will start on MNSP Pay Grade 2, Point 4 with an incremental rise to Point 5 (£25,185 - £25,583 FTE gross per annum/£13.05 - £13.26 per hour).
