West Somerset College is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support learning in our classrooms, promote independence and help students reach their potential.

You will adapt resources for diverse needs, including those with SEND, assist with lesson delivery and safeguarding, and help maintain a safe, inclusive environment.

This role requires a proactive, team-focused approach and strong communication with teachers, pupils and families to ensure each learner progresses.

Qualifications

• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE C/4+ in English and Maths).
• Experience working with children in an educational setting is desirable.
• Proactive, compassionate and adaptable approach to supporting students.

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with teachers to support learning, promote independence and help students achieve their best. You’ll contribute to classroom delivery, adapt resources for individual needs, including those with SEND, and help maintain a safe, inclusive and positive environment where every student feels valued.
