Job summary

Long Term Futures Ltd in Derby is recruiting an experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Oakwood from September 2026.

You will support pupils across the primary age range, deliver targeted interventions, and work alongside experienced teachers to provide high-quality classroom support in an inclusive learning environment. The role is full-time, long-term temporary, with weekly pay and ongoing CPD.

Qualifications

• Must hold Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience delivering interventions and supporting pupils with varying abilities is desirable.
• Excellent communication and behaviour management skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning across the primary curriculum.
• Deliver targeted interventions in literacy, numeracy and phonics.
• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils needing guidance.
• Support pupils with SEND and adapt activities for individual needs.
• Encourage positive behaviour and independence in the classroom.
• Prepare learning resources and assist with classroom organisation.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers.

Level 3 Teaching Assistant — Oakwood, Derby, DE21 (commutable from Chaddesden, Spondon, Borrowash, Allestree, Breadsall) — 110‑120 per day — Start Date: September 2026 — Contract: Full‑time, long‑term temporary

Long Term Futures is recruiting an experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the Oakwood area of Derby from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting pupils to achieve their full potential. Working alongside experienced teachers and support staff, you will play an important role in delivering high‑quality classroom support, targeted interventions and personalised learning for pupils across the primary age range.

The school is looking for someone who can make an immediate impact, build positive relationships and contribute to a nurturing and engaging learning environment.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification (or equivalent) – essential
• Previous experience working within a primary school

• Experience delivering interventions and supporting pupils with varying abilities
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND – desirable
• Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
• Proactive, organised and committed to supporting children to succeed
