Job summary

Premier Education Ltd, in partnership with a welcoming primary school in the New Mills area, is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to work five days per week on a long-term basis.

You will support two KS2 pupils, help them access learning, stay engaged, and progress under the guidance of the class teacher.

A successful candidate will build strong relationships with pupils and staff; UK school experience is essential, enhanced DBS required, sponsorship not offered.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a UK primary school is essential.
  • Experience supporting KS2 pupils is highly desirable.
  • Previous Teaching Assistant or SEND experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting two KS2 pupils with their learning and development.
  • Providing individual and small-group support where required.
  • Helping pupils remain focused, engaged, and confident in the classroom.
  • Supporting learning activities set by the class teacher.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and independence.
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff.
  • Providing consistent support throughout this long-term placement.

Teaching Assistant - KS2 Long-Term Role

Location: New Mills Area
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Long-Term
Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday
Pay: Competitive daily rates, paid weekly via our in-house PAYE payroll

Premier Education is working with a welcoming primary school in the New Mills area seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to work 5 days per week on a long-term basis.

The successful candidate will be supporting two children within Key Stage 2, helping them access learning, remain engaged in the classroom, and make positive progress.

This role requires someone who can build strong and consistent relationships with pupils and work effectively alongside the class teacher and wider school team.

Please note: Recent experience working within a UK school is essential for this position.

The Role:
  • Supporting two KS2 pupils with their learning and development
  • Providing individual and small-group support where required
  • Helping pupils remain focused, engaged, and confident in the classroom
  • Supporting learning activities set by the class teacher
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and independence

Candidate Requirements:
  • Previous experience working in a UK primary school is essential

  • A patient, positive, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Reliable and able to commit to 5 days per week
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
