Job summary

Castle Academy in Doncaster is seeking a committed Teaching Assistant (Interventions & Inclusion) to support pupils through targeted academic, pastoral and SEND interventions. You will work with teachers, the SENDCo, families and external professionals to ensure personalised support and access to learning.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about inclusion and helping every child achieve success academically, socially and emotionally. Term-time only, permanent contract.

Qualifications

  • GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent.
  • Understanding of SEND and inclusion strategies.
  • Ability to build positive professional relationships with pupils, colleagues and families.
  • Strong communication, teamwork and organisational skills.
  • Positive, resilient and solution-focused approach to supporting children.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, pupil wellbeing and CPD.
  • Willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver targeted intervention programmes for individuals and small groups to accelerate progress and address barriers to learning.
  • Support SEN/EHCPs and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Provide tailored support for pupils with SEND and SEMH needs.
  • Promote inclusion, confidence, resilience and independence in pupils.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENDCo and pastoral staff to identify and support pupils requiring additional intervention.
  • Monitor, record and evaluate pupil progress, engagement and intervention outcomes.
  • Deliver interventions in literacy, numeracy, communication, emotional wellbeing and social skills.
  • Adapt resources and learning activities to meet individual needs and maximise pupil success.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues to support positive outcomes.
  • Contribute to a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment while promoting the school's values and expectations.

Actual Salary: £19,786 - £20,422 per annum

About the role

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant (Interventions & Inclusion) to support pupils through targeted academic, pastoral and SEND interventions. Working closely with teachers, the SENDCo, families and external professionals, you will help ensure pupils receive the personalised support they need to access learning successfully, overcome barriers and flourish within school life.

Key responsibilities
