Job summary

Castle Academy in Doncaster is recruiting a Teaching Assistant (Interventions & Inclusion) to support pupils through targeted academic, pastoral and SEND interventions. Working with teachers, the SENDCo, families and external professionals, you'll help ensure pupils access learning successfully and flourish within school life.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent.
• Understanding of SEND, inclusion and strategies that support children with additional needs.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families.
• Strong communication, teamwork and organisational skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding, pupil wellbeing and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted intervention programmes for individuals and small groups to accelerate progress and address barriers to learning.
• Support the implementation of SEN Support Plans and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Provide tailored support for pupils with SEND and SEMH needs.
• Promote inclusion, confidence, resilience and independence in pupils.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENDCo and pastoral staff to identify and support pupils requiring additional intervention.
• Monitor, record and evaluate pupil progress, engagement and intervention outcomes.
• Deliver interventions in areas such as literacy, numeracy, communication, emotional wellbeing and social skills.
• Adapt resources and learning activities to meet individual needs and maximise pupil success.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues to support positive outcomes.
• Contribute to a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment while promoting the school's values and expectations.
