Job summary

A leading education organization is looking for passionate Teaching Assistants to join their team in Colne. The role involves nurturing children's development, supporting various educational needs, and contributing to a positive school environment. Ideal candidates will possess relevant experience and Qualifications such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification. Full-time hours are from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, starting on 1st September 2025, with the opportunity for temporary to permanent placement.

Job description

We are seeking passionate and experienced Teaching Assistants who want to make a difference to children’s education and development.

• Hours: Full-time 8:30am – 15:30pm
• Start: 1st September 2025
• Pay: £13.75 – £14.50 per hour
• Key Stage 1/2
• Location: Colne, Lancashire

Responsibilities:

- Have a nurturing and calm approach in order to build relationships with children.

- Communicate with families/carers to provide feedback about children.

- Provide support to all children, including those with additional needs.

- Deliver small intervention groups and Phonics sessions (KS1)

- Work closely with the Class Teacher and other professionals to enhance children’s learning.

- Assist with classroom management and use good behaviour management strategies.

- Help to create a safe, fun and inclusive learning environment.

- Commit to the wider life of the school and the community of the school.

Requirements:

- Relevant experience working with children, preferably in a school setting.

- A good understanding of the KS1 or KS2curriculum.

- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.

- Enhanced DBS on the update service.

- Experience supporting children with Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
