Job summary

Teaching Vacancies in Chulmleigh is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join the Year 6 team at Chulmleigh Primary School. The role focuses on providing additional support to pupils and helping them prepare for SATS.

The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Head of School and Year 6 teacher, supporting the class three hours each weekday. This fixed-term position runs from November 2026 to 28 May 2027.

What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed, patient and motivated Teaching Assistant to join our support team at Chulmleigh Primary School. The successful candidate will provide additional support in our Year 6 class.

You will be tenacious and committed to supporting the needs and development of individual pupils whilst being an excellent team player and communicator. Previous experience of working with pupils with different abilities would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Head of School and Year 6 class teacher to support our Year 6 pupils as they prepare for their SATS assessments.

This is a fixed term role available from November 2026 to 28th May 2027. The working pattern will be Monday to Friday 9.00am to 12.00pm.

Candidates should demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

• - Support inclusion and be fully committed to ensuring the very best for all our pupils
• - The ability to support colleagues, use positive behaviour management strategies and ensure the school continues its excellent provision for all pupils
