Job summary

The Lantern Primary School in Ely is seeking a dedicated Level Two Teaching Assistant to work closely with our SENDCo team and class teachers, providing high quality support for pupils with a range of additional needs. You will help deliver targeted interventions and support learning inside and outside the classroom.

The successful candidate will adapt teaching resources to meet individual abilities, be creative and flexible, and work under the Headteacher to ensure pupils achieve their full

Qualifications

  • GCSE English & Maths at grade C (4/5) or above.
  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or willingness to work towards this.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND including autism, ADHD, speech and language needs.
  • Outstanding communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
  • Flexible, adaptable and able to think on your feet while safeguarding pupils.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver targeted interventions to support pupil progress.
  • Support learning inside and outside the classroom.
  • Adapt teaching resources to meet individual pupil needs.
  • Work closely with SENDCo and class teachers to plan support for pupils.

Job description

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic Level Two Teaching Assistant to join our fantastic team at The Lantern Primary School in Ely. As a Level Two Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with our SENDCo team and class teachers to provide high quality support for pupils who may have a range of additional needs. You will enjoy making a valuable difference to learning and progress, delivering targeted interventions and supporting inside and outside of the classroom. The successful candidate will have the ability to adapt teaching resources to meet individual pupil abilities and be fun, creative and innovative in approach to enable our pupils to achieve their full potential. You will be responsible to the Headteacher.

  • Have an understanding of child protection and safeguarding issues,
  • Will possess GCSE English & Mathematics Grade C (4/5) or above
  • Will possess a Teaching Assistant qualification or show a willingness to work towards this
  • Experience of supporting pupils with SEND and/or behavioural needs
  • Possess outstanding communication skills and can work well in a team
  • Can be adaptable and resourceful
  • An understanding of child protection and safeguarding issues
