Job summary

AMA Admin is partnering with a welcoming secondary school in Grays to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant. You will support pupils across the school, helping with academic progress, wellbeing and personal development.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in class, small groups, and one-to-one.
• Assist with lesson delivery and targeted interventions.

• Supervise pupils during lessons, breaks, and activities.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting pupils in class, small groups, and on a one-to-one basis


• Assisting with the delivery of lessons and targeted interventions


• Supporting pupils with additional needs, including SEND and SEMH where appropriate


• Promoting positive behaviour and engagement in learning


• Preparing resources and supporting classroom organisation


• Supervising pupils during lessons, break times, and school activities


• Building strong, positive relationships with pupils and staff

The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for someone who:

• Is caring, patient, and enthusiastic about working with children


• Has experience working with children or young people (school experience desirable but not essential)


• Is committed to inclusion and supporting pupils from diverse backgrounds


• Works well as part of a team and takes initiative


• Communicates clearly and professionally

Relevant Teaching Assistant qualifications (Level 2 or Level 3) are desirable but not essential for the right candidate.
