Job summary

Meridian Trust is seeking a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one and group support, adapting resources and engaging learners at Ely.

You will work closely with the SENDCo and SEND team to create engaging teaching resources and displays, with term-time hours (32.5 per week, 38 weeks) and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • GCSE English and Maths at Grade C (or above)
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND is beneficial
  • Outstanding communication skills and teamwork
  • Able to adapt, take on new ideas and think on their feet
  • Understanding of child protection and safeguarding issues

Responsibilities

Vacancy for Level 2 Teaching Assistant

Salary: Meridian Trust Grade 5, Points 5-7

Hours: 32.5 a week, 38 weeks

This is a role with an opportunity to make a real difference to the learning and progress of our pupils, working to provide one-to-one and group support and teaching. You will be adapting teaching resources, thinking of new ways to learn, being fun and creative in your approach and adaptable to children's needs. Our Teaching Assistants are highly valued in our school - you will work closely with our SENDCo and SEND team to provide our children with the best possible educational opportunities. An element of your duties will also include preparation of fantastic teaching resources/class displays.

The ideal candidate:
  • Will possess GCSE English & Maths Grade C (4/5) or above or equivalent
  • Experience of supporting pupils with SEND of behaviour needs would be beneficial.
  • Possess outstanding communication skills and can work well in a team
  • Can be adaptable, take on board new ideas and think on their feet!
  • An understanding of child protection and safeguarding issues
