Job summary

Supply Hive Wales are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Cardiff primary school in a mixed Nursery and Reception class on a full-time, term-time basis. The role supports early learning and development, working closely with the class teacher to create a positive classroom environment.

Experience with ALN is desirable, with a strong emphasis on patience, excellent communication, and teamwork.

• Experience working with children is essential (school-based experience is not required).

Responsibilities

Teaching Assistant – Nursery & Reception Class

Cardiff | Full-Time | Term Time Only | £93 per day | September Start

Supply Hive Wales are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Cardiff for a Teaching Assistant to join their mixed Nursery and Reception class on a full-time, term-time basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young children and wants to play a key role in supporting their early learning and development. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to create a positive, engaging, and nurturing classroom environment.

Some pupils within the class have suspected Additional Learning Needs (ALN), so experience supporting children with additional needs would be highly desirable. However, we also welcome applications from candidates with transferable experience working with children in other settings, such as nurseries, childcare, youth work, sports coaching, or play schemes.

The Role

• Supporting teaching and learning within a mixed Nursery and Reception class.


• Assisting with classroom activities and helping children develop socially, emotionally, and academically.


• Providing additional support to children with suspected ALN where required.


• Working closely with the class teacher and wider school staff to ensure every child reaches their potential.
