A leading educational institution is seeking a passionate Teaching Assistant (SEN) to support children with special educational needs. This role involves working closely with teachers to implement individualized education plans and promote inclusive learning environments. The successful candidate will have a nurturing approach and a commitment to safeguarding children's welfare, making a genuine impact in their lives.
30 hours per week (8.45am-3.15pm, Monday – Friday. Term time only)
required from September 2025.
Salary: TA1 SCP 2-4 (Dependent on Experience)
Contract Type: Temporary to support a child with an EHCP whilst they attend the school.
Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? St. John’s Church of England Middle School Academy is looking for a caring, committed, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant (SEN) to join our dedicated team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people. You will work closely with class teachers and the SENDCo to support pupils with special educational, emotional, and social needs as outlined in their EHCPs.
What you will be doing:
• Supporting pupils’ learning and development, both in and out of the classroom.
• Helping implement individual education plans and promoting inclusive learning environments.
• Acting as a positive role model and encouraging independence.
• Assisting teachers with planning, preparation, and resource management.
• Promoting positive behaviour and pupil engagement.
• Supervising pupils during school activities, including breaks and educational visits.

This post supports a child with a range of needs outlined in their EHCP for the duration of their time at St John’s C of E Middle School Academy. When the child leaves the school, the post will cease.
