Job summary

Garth Hill College are seeking to appoint a reliable, efficient and enthusiastic person to the position of Teaching Assistant. The role involves assisting the teacher in the classroom, and undertaking programmes of work, care and support to enable pupils to progress in their learning.

This is a permanent post with 27.5 hours per week, term time only plus 2 INSET days. The school offers a friendly environment, strong CPD, safeguarding commitment and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working with or caring for children in a learning environment is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the teacher in the classroom.
  • Undertaking programmes of work, care and support to enable pupils to progress in their learning.
  • Demonstrating initiative and confidence to handle challenging situations.
  • Willingness to undertake training such as manual handling.
