Job description

Teaching Assistant
Location: Northfield, Birmingham (B31)
Pay: 455- 480 per week
Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term
Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm
Start Date: ASAP

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting learning across Key Stage 1 and 2? We're seeking a confident and reliable Year 3 Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in Northfield, Birmingham as soon as possible.

About the Role

You'll work closely with the Year 3 class teacher to deliver engaging whole-class teaching and provide extra support to individual pupils or small groups who may need help understanding lesson content. The role may also include supporting children with special educational needs, particularly those with ASD and ADHD.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the teacher in delivering high-quality, engaging lessons
    Provide small group and 1:1 support to pupils who need extra help
    Contribute to classroom management and behaviour support
    Help adapt resources and learning tasks to suit individual needs
    Support children with SEN such as Autism and ADHD
    Encourage a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

Candidate Requirements

  • A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2/3 or equivalent)
    Previous school-based experience with KS1 and/or KS2 pupils
    Experience supporting children with SEN including ADHD and ASD
    Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude
    Team player who can also use initiative when needed
