About The School of Arts, Languages and Cultures (SALC)

The Role

This role forms part of the School Teaching, Learning and Student Experience (TLSE) team, which is responsible for administering a high quality service of support to students on our Undergraduate and Postgraduate Taught programmes of study.

The ideal candidate will be able manage and lead the administrative requirements, staff, budgets and resources of the Teaching & Learning team sub-team, and ensure they are operating within University, Faculty and School policies, guidance and regulations.

The candidate will be expected to develop focused and effective teaching and learning strategies, alongside senior academic and professional services (PS) colleagues and will be instrumental in the implementation of such strategies across the wider TLSE team.

As well as working within SALC, the role will require significant cross-organisational working with senior academic and professional services colleagues across the Faculty and wider University, delivering a high quality, student focused service and promoting a single team culture.

The Team

The teams that report to this role comprise of:

  • 2 Teaching & Learning Officers – direct line management
  • 10 TLSE Coordinators
  • 16 TLSE Administrators
  • 8 TLSE Assistants
