Job description

SEN Class Teacher

When you think SEN School you may think SEN or SEMH provision for children and young adults. But what do you actually know about the school? Let me tell you - This is a good school, primarily because they prioritise outcomes for the children and young adults they support and provide a welcoming and nurturing environment for their staff. By doing this the staff are able to achieve more for the children they support because the overall approach is more holistic. Sounds good, doesn't it?

We are supporting this school by recruiting an SEN Class Teacher for a September start, the school are happy to be flexible for the right person and offer this role on a permanent or supply basis. This setting works to primary-style model across KS2 & KS3, supporting children with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. Importantly they offer educational support and care within and beyond the school gates, not to mention a smile for every child.

The role:
  • Working as part of a great team teaching small classes across KS2 & KS3.
  • Planning lessons that differentiate for individual needs and learning capability.
  • Prioritising well-being, social and emotional health in the classroom.
  • Collaborating with the SLT to create a holistic learning environment where every child matters.
  • Enabling progress, recognising, and rewarding progress even if it is just with a smile. It matters.
The school:
  • The staff at this lovely school are a real team and are there for one another.
  • SLT are 'hands on' and love what they do, visible, approachable, and ready to assist whenever needed.
  • The small size means everyone knows each other well, fostering a strong sense of belonging.
  • Importantly this school enables children to make real progress in a nurturing and safe environment where they enjoy interaction with other children.
In return you will enjoy:
  • Pay to UPS + SEN Allowance
  • Working as part of a progressive team with real scope for personal development.
  • Bespoke CPD in trauma-informed practice, behaviour strategies and SEN.
  • In-house well-beinginitiatives that include therapeutic and pastoral support.
  • A culture rooted in inclusion, trust, and shared purpose.
Ideal Candidate:
  • QTS Teacher
  • Someone resilient, empathetic, and flexible.
  • A teacher who can thrive in a team, able to both give and seek support.
  • Committed to making a profound impact on children with SEMH needs.

This is demanding but extremely rewarding work. If you want to be part of a supportive school community where staff genuinely have each other’s backs-and make a real difference for children-this could be your next step.
