Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking an SEN Teacher for a specialist SEMH school in Telford. The role is full-time and long-term with potential for permanency. You will plan and deliver differentiated lessons for secondary students with SEMH, manage behaviour, and foster a supportive learning environment.

The successful candidate will hold QTS and have experience in UK secondary or SEN settings, with a valid DBS (Update Service). A passionate, resilient approach and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting students with SEMH and associated needs.
  • Must have a valid DBS on the Update Service.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for secondary-aged students with SEMH.
  • Manage behaviour positively to maintain a safe, structured classroom environment.
  • Support academic progress and emotional wellbeing of pupils in SEN setting.

SEN Teacher

Location: Telford

Start Date: September, Full Time Position

Salary: £160 to £210 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEN school in Telford that provides a supportive and inclusive learning environment for secondary-aged students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school is committed to delivering personalised learning, promoting positive behaviour and ensuring every student is given the opportunity to succeed both academically and personally.

The school is looking to appoint a full-time SEN Teacher on a long-term basis with the opportunity to secure a permanent position. The successful SEN Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons for secondary-aged students with SEMH, managing behaviour positively and creating a safe, structured classroom environment that supports both academic progress and emotional wellbeing.

The successful SEN Teacher will have:

  • QTS and experience teaching within a UK secondary or SEN setting
  • Experience supporting students with SEMH and associated additional needs
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • The ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessonsA patient, resilient and adaptable approach to teaching
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
  • Must have a valid DBS on the Update Service
