Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages (French and Spanish) - Full Time (6:45 am to 3:30 pm)
We are seeking an enthusiastic, hardworking, and highly motivated qualified Upper Primary/Secondary School Teacher from September 2025. This position is exciting in the innovative, inspiring, and growing International British Online School.

Successful applicants must have:
- A certified teaching qualification, such as B.Ed, PGCE, or equivalent (the PGCE must be accompanied by a subject-relevant Bachelor's Degree).
- Exceptional subject knowledge in Modern Foreign Languages (French and Spanish), with extensive experience teaching the British National Curriculum in Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
- Experience teaching GCSE Modern Foreign Languages (French and Spanish), preferably with Pearson International Examinations.
- A desire to help build a thriving department in a new school.
- A proven track record of providing outstanding teaching and learning.
- Willingness to participate in extracurricular activities after school.
Desirable qualities:
- Experience teaching Modern Foreign Languages (French and Spanish) to KS3, KS4, and KS5 (iGCSE, iAL). Experience teaching KS5 is desirable but not essential.
- Experience teaching pupils with English as an Additional Language or English as a Second Language.
- Experience using Microsoft Teams and Engage.
- Proficiency in computer literacy.
- Experience integrating technology into primary and secondary teaching.
- Previous international teaching experience.
Planning expectations and targets
- Set challenging teaching and learning objectives based on knowledge of students, their past and current achievement, and the relevant standards.
- Plan lessons and sequences of lessons in advance, including assessment strategies and differentiation.
- Select and prepare resources, including ICT, ensuring their safe and effective use.
- Collaborate with department colleagues to develop schemes of work, methodologies, and resources.
Monitoring and assessment
- Use assessment information to evaluate and extend students' achievement.
- Provide frequent, constructive feedback following department policies.
- Manage students who fail to complete or submit work according to school policies.
- Support more able students, those working below expectations, or with emotional/behavioral difficulties.
- Record and communicate students' progress systematically.
- Discuss progress and set targets with students using performance profiles.
Online class management
- Create a purposeful, disciplined learning environment where students feel secure and confident.
- Maintain high expectations of behavior and promote self-control and independence.
- Design engaging lessons with clear objectives, using a variety of interactive methods and collaborative work.
- Promote active, independent learning and differentiated teaching to meet diverse needs.
- Be aware of the needs of boys, girls, and students from different cultural backgrounds.
- Organize and manage teaching time and resources effectively.
- Assign homework and out-of-class work to reinforce learning and encourage independence.
