GSL Education are seeking a Teacher of History for a thriving Secondary school in Withernsea, East Riding of Yorkshire, starting in September 2025.

Teacher of History Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging lessons that align with the national curriculum or exam board specifications.
• Use a variety of teaching strategies to make the subject matter interesting and accessible.
• Maintain discipline and create a positive learning environment.
• Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils.
• Promote good progress and outcomes by pupils.
• Stay up-to-date with developments in the subject of History.
• Manage behaviour effectively to ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Teacher of History Requirements:

• Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status, with UK-based teaching experience.
• Hold a relevant Degree at 2:1 or higher.
• A strong and comprehensive knowledge of history, including current events and developments.
• Be an excellent classroom practitioner with the ability to innovate, enthuse and use your own initiative.
• Have a commitment to ongoing personal development and training.
• Hold an enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered with the update service or be willing to apply a for a new one through GSL Education.
