Teacher of Geography (with History)
Location: York, North Yorkshire

GSL Education are seeking passionate and qualified Teacher of Geography (with History) to join our client secondary school in York, North Yorkshire from September 2025. We welcome applications from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs).

As a Teacher of Geography with the ability to contribute to History teaching, you will inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential opportunities for Key Stage 5. You will deliver engaging and challenging lessons that foster curiosity, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of the world. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-performing department with a reputation for innovation and academic excellence.

Geography Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in Geography, and contribute to the teaching of History as required.
  • Foster a love of learning and a global perspective in all students.
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND and EAL.
  • Assess, track, and report on student progress.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities.

Geography Teacher requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in Geography or a related subject.
  • The ability to teach Geography to GCSE (and ideally A-Level) and contribute meaningfully to History provision.
  • A passion for their subject and a commitment to inspiring students of all abilities.
  • Hold an enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered with the update service or be willing to apply a for a new one through GSL Education.
