About The Role

Contract Type: Permanent
Working Hours: Full Time, 27.5 hours per week
Number of Positions: 1
Start Date: 1st June 2025
Salary: £31,650 per annum

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Teacher of Design and Food Technology to join our team at Manchester Enterprise Academy (MEA).

This is a permanent, full-time teaching position, with a salary in the range of MPS/UPS. We welcome applications from experienced teachers or current trainees who will qualify by June 2025, for a start date in July or September 2025.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Delivering engaging lessons in Design and Food Technology, covering theoretical and practical aspects such as nutrition, food science, product design, sustainability, and using tools like CAD/CAM and kitchen equipment.
  • Adapting lessons to diverse learning styles and abilities, maintaining safety, and assessing student work fairly and constructively.
  • Managing a dynamic classroom environment with practical tasks requiring supervision and clear instructions.

  • Qualified to teach and work in the UK with experience in the 11-16 age range.
  • Strong subject knowledge and awareness of current curriculum developments.
  • Effective communicator, capable of building positive relationships.
  • Proven ability to deliver quality teaching, achieve positive student outcomes, and motivate pupils and colleagues.
