If you are passionate about English and seek an opportunity to develop in a rapidly expanding and successful school, this may be the ideal role for you.

At St Dunstan's, we aim to provide a high-quality education and an environment that supports, nurtures, and challenges students to fulfill their potential. St Dunstan's is part of the Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership (MNSP), a Multi-Academy Trust.

The successful applicant will:

  2. Be an outstanding, dynamic, highly motivated, and innovative teacher.
  3. Inspire students to have high expectations.
  4. Show a genuine commitment to making a positive contribution to the school.

For full details, please see the job description.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with motivated students, supported by a dedicated team of staff, a supportive induction program, and ongoing professional development. They will also work in a successful school in a beautiful area of the South West. Staff benefits include free on-site parking, membership of the Teachers’ Pension Scheme, and access to the Employee Assistance Programme “Health Assured,” offering advice, information, and counseling via telephone. A selection of meals, snacks, and drinks is available for staff to purchase at lunch and break times.

This is an extremely successful, inclusive school with a strong reputation. In the most recent Ofsted report (February 2024), inspectors praised the community ethos and relationships between staff and students, the broad and ambitious curriculum, the prioritization of reading, and support for all students to access the curriculum. We are proud of the excellent progress our students make in their GCSEs. The school remains one of the highest performing in Somerset and is highly regarded by parents and the community.

St Dunstan’s School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. All staff and volunteers are expected to share this commitment. Appointments are subject to references and a full Disclosure and Barring Service check. We are an equal opportunities employer. The campus is a no-smoking site.

Working with us offers many benefits, including a generous annual leave entitlement, access to a local government pension scheme, sick pay, cycle-to-work scheme, free eye tests, and an employee assistance helpline.
