Requirements
Applicants must complete the Head Teacher report template attached to this advert and attach it to their application form before the closing date. Please upload your Head Teacher Report in the 'COVER LETTER' section of the application; a cover letter is not required.
For Vacancies at Denominational Schools
Evidence of Catholic Church Approval: Applicants must seek Catholic Church approval when submitting their application. A copy of the approval should be provided to the Chair of the Panel prior to the interview. If approval is pending, confirmation from the Church Representative that the application has been submitted will be sought.
Denominational Primary Posts: Applicants must have the Catholic Teaching Certificate or Catholic Religious Education Certificate. Forms and further information are available at Scottish Catholic Education Service (SCES).
Denominational Secondary Posts: Applicants need to have RC approval for the relevant school. Details are available at the same SCES website.
Responsibilities
This role is considered a regulated role with children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2020. Membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Applicants will need to become members or undergo a PVG check prior to a formal offer.
The employment is excepted from section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975. Applicants must disclose all convictions, including spent ones, as failure to do so could result in dismissal or disciplinary action.
