Job summary

Purbrook Park School in Waterlooville is seeking a passionate Teacher of Design Technology to join our Art, Design and Technology team. The role focuses on delivering Design Technology and Product Design with a pathway to teach OCR Cambridge National in Engineering Design at KS4.

The successful candidate will inspire pupils through practical, project-based learning and strong subject knowledge. Training and support will be provided where needed to develop in Design Technology and Engineering.

Qualifications

• Experience/interest in Design Technology and Product Design.
• Knowledge of engineering design processes and CAD/CAM.
• Familiarity with modelling, prototyping and workshop-based practical skills.
• Ability to develop and deliver high-quality Design Technology lessons.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Design Technology lessons and inspire pupils.
• Develop and deliver OCR Cambridge National in Engineering Design (J822) at KS4.
• Contribute to Art & Design provision, including 3D Design.
• Collaborate with departmental team to plan and assess learning.
• Provide high-quality feedback and ensure accurate assessment.

Job description

We are looking to appointan enthusiastic, skilled and creative Teacher of Design Technology to join ourArt, Design and Technology team. This isan exciting opportunity for a teacher with a strong background in DesignTechnology, Product Design, Engineering or a related discipline. The successfulcandidate will play a key role in developing and delivering our DesignTechnology provision, including the OCR Cambridge National in EngineeringDesign (J822) at Key Stage 4.

We are particularlyinterested in appointing someone who is confident in practical and technicaldesign and who can inspire pupils through high-quality teaching, strong subjectknowledge and engaging project work.

Thesuccessful candidate will ideally have experience or knowledge of:

• Design Technology and/or ProductDesign
• Engineering design processes
• CAD/CAM
• Technical and engineering drawing
• Modelling and prototyping
• Workshop-based practical skills
• The use of materials andmanufacturing processes
• Supporting pupils to develop, refineand evaluate design ideas

Theability to contribute to our Art & Design provision, including 3D Design,would be a significant advantage.

Previousexperience of teaching the OCR Cambridge National in Engineering Design wouldbe desirable but is not essential. We are happy to provide appropriate trainingand support for a strong Design Technology or Product Design teacher who has the skills and enthusiasm to develop in this area.
