Job summary

Frome College in Somerset is seeking a dynamic Teacher of Design Technology to join our occupations faculty. This 1.0FTE role is a permanent post starting January 2027, with flexibility for an earlier start.

You will teach Product Design, Textiles and Food Tech to GCSE, A‑Level and BTEC groups, inspiring creativity and high standards in a supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Be an outstanding teacher or Early Career Teacher (ECT).
• Have a passion for their subject and helping students succeed.
• Teach inspirational lessons consistently.
• Be innovative, creative, enthusiastic - able to deliver results.
• Be proactive and promote positivity.

Responsibilities

• Teach and inspire students to achieve their full potential in GCSE/A-Level/BTEC.
• Specialise in Product Design, Textiles and Food Tech, or teach across these areas.
• Contribute to a supportive induction, CPD and departmental activities.
• Be willing to teach in other subjects such as PSHE if needed.

This is an exciting post offering an excellent opportunity for an energetic and creative teacher to join our skilled occupations faculty specialising in Product Design, Textiles and Food Tech or enthusiasm and willingness to teach in these areas. The right candidate will teach and inspire students to achieve their full potential in GCSE/A-Level/BTEC.

The ability and willingness to teach in other subject areas, such as PSHE, would be an advantage.
