Job description

Leeds City College is recruiting for a GCSE Maths Teacher to join our outstanding 14+ Academies team. We are seeking a passionate, talented, and supportive individual to support our learners.

The ethos of the academies promotes smaller class sizes, a reduced curriculum, and a focus on vocational learning. Our goal is to help young people maximise their potential, raise aspirations, and embrace their individuality. Relationship building is central to our ethos, supported by a high staff-to-student ratio that allows learners to thrive and develop holistically.

What You Will Do
  1. Plan, prepare, and develop schemes of work, lesson plans, teaching and learning resources, and assessment plans.
  2. Maintain and update the 14+ Academies tracking systems to identify and implement interventions.
  3. Deliver engaging sessions across the curriculum using diverse teaching methods.
  4. Work within the ethos and culture of the 14+ Academies, utilizing tools like effort descriptors and APLs.
  5. Set targets with learners to support their academic and personal development, including during Personal Progress Days and in parent/carer reports.
About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience supporting young people academically and developmentally, particularly aged 14-16.
  • Recent teaching experience in relevant subject areas.
  • Experience managing learner progress in an educational setting.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
