Job summary

Leeds City College is recruiting an Engineering Teacher with a specialism in Machining and CNC to join our dynamic team. Based at the Printworks Campus, you will shape the next generation of engineers through innovative teaching practices and industry-aligned methods.

You will deliver across awarding bodies such as EAL and T levels (currently C&G) for full-time and apprentice learners, with a focus on Milling, Turning and CNC.

Leeds City College are recruiting for an Engineering Teacher with a specialism in Machining and CNC Engineering to join our team. As an Engineering Teacher at our Printworks Campus, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of engineers. You may be required to design and implement innovative teaching methods to enhance the learning experience and ensure that students are well-prepared for careers in various engineering fields.

The ideal candidate will be diverse to deliver across different awarding bodies such as EAL and T levels (currently C&G) to both full time and apprentice learners.

The salary for this role is £31,916 with progression to £35,912, plus a yearly market supplement for the right candidate. In addition, you could be eligible for a one-off attraction payment of £3,000. (This payment is split into 2 halves - £1,500 will be paid on commencement of the role and £1,500 to be paid on successfully passing probation).

What You Will Do

• You will play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching, learning and assessment, ensuring students are supported, challenged and inspired to achieve their full potential. This includes planning and delivering engaging lessons, developing innovative learning resources (including digital content), and designing effective assessment strategies that drive progress and attainment.
• You will monitor and track learner progress, providing timely, constructive feedback and setting ambitious SMART targets, while implementing targeted interventions to support student success.
• Through reflective practice and the application of evidence-based teaching methods, you will continuously enhance the learning experience to meet the diverse needs of learners.
• Working collaboratively, you will contribute to curriculum development, course review and quality assurance processes, including internal verification and moderation.
• You will support student recruitment, induction and progression, helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes high levels of retention, achievement and progression.
• You will maintain up-to-date subject knowledge and engage in ongoing professional development, while upholding the highest standards of teaching, safeguarding, and professional practice.
• You may also support examination processes, participate in college events, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation.
