Job summary

East Sussex College Group in Eastbourne is seeking an experienced electrician to transition into teaching. You will deliver practical electrical installation lessons to a diverse learner group and join a specialist team across trade areas.

We welcome industry professionals at any career stage and offer funded teacher development. Roles can be full-time or part-time; salary ranges £30,000–£42,000 with a competitive FE package and strong pension benefits.

Qualifications

  • Recent, relevant industry experience.
  • Level 2 Electrical Installations (Essential).
  • Level 3 Electrical Installations (Desirable).
  • Assessor and/or IQA qualification (Desirable).
  • Open to industry professionals with no or limited teaching experience; funded teacher development.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver practical, engaging electrical installation lessons to a diverse range of learners.
  • Join a specialist teaching team, contributing across all trade areas.
  • Support and guide students through the tutorial programme.
  • Deliver learning across Level 1 to Level 3 programmes.

This is a fantastic opportunity to pass on your industry expertise, inspire learners, and be part of a supportive, specialist teaching team delivering high-quality electrical training across multiple levels.

This exciting role will include:

  • Delivering practical, engaging electrical installation lessons to a diverse range of learners
  • Joining a specialist teaching team, contributing across all trade areas
  • Supporting and guiding students through the tutorial programme
  • Delivering learning across Level 1 to Level 3 programmes

  • Recent, relevant industry experience
  • Level 2 Electrical Installations (Essential)
  • Level 3 Electrical Installations (Desirable)
  • Assessor and/or IQA qualification (Desirable)

College location: Based at our Eastbourne Campus.

Annual salary: Circa £30,000 - £42,000 Full Time Earnings.

(Subject to qualifications, skills and experience)

Hours: We have full time hours available but would welcome part time workers, to enable candidates to maintain their business/industry experience.
