Job summary

Cambian Pengwern College is seeking an experienced Teacher to deliver high quality teaching, learning and assessment to students with a learning disability and complex needs. You will develop personalised learning plans and ensure safe, supportive learning environments.

Role requires commitment to safeguarding, equality of opportunity and collaboration within a dedicated team of professionals who provide clear guidance and mentoring.

Qualifications

• Experience working with learners with learning difficulties/disabilities and/or challenging behaviour.
• Appreciation of ESTYN and CIW inspection regimes.

• Stay updated on teaching developments related to your specialist subjects.
• Strive for outstanding results in learner outcomes and observations; guide learning support.
• Formulate, track and evaluate session plans and schemes of work.
• Complete reports showing student progress and achievements; update plans and risk assessments.

Pengwern College is looking to enhance the quality of Education to our Students and are looking for a talented and experienced Teacher to join the team!,

• Deliver high quality teaching, learning and assessment to underpin high levels of achievement for all learners.
• Ensure equality of treatment for all students by using effectively differentiated resources and strategies.
• Keep abreast of teaching developments and initiatives relating to their teaching specialisms.
• Strive for outstanding results i.e. learner outcomes and teaching observations and directs learning support effectively during sessions.
• Formulate, track and evaluate session plans and schemes of work.
• Completes reports demonstrating student progress and achievement.
• Update Support Plans, Risk assessments and Tutorials encouraging learner involvement through the promotion of learner voice.
• Clearly report any concerns or issues both within the team and the relevant external bodies i.e. Estyn CIW, Safeguarding, Local Authority., Wellbeing - Your wellbeing matters to us, and we are committed to ensuring you get all the support you need.
• You will be a part of a dedicated team of professionals who will offer you clear guidance and mentor you in to this role.

• Experience of working with and teaching learners with learning difficulties/disabilities and/or challenging behaviour.
• Recent and relevant experience of the education and care service delivery requirements of people with a learning disability.
• Appreciation of the ESTYN and CIW inspection regimes.
• Delivering teaching activity within a 24 hour (extended) curriculum mode.
• Experience of teaching a person centred curriculum in new and innovative ways.

Cambian Pengwern College is an independent provider of specialist further education in North Wales, offering day, and up to 52-week residential placements for young people aged 16 to 25 with a learning disability and complex needs.
