Job summary

Bracken Hill School is seeking a Teacher to join its all-age SEND provision. This part-time post (11 hours per week on Thursdays and Fridays) offers rewarding, pupil-centred teaching aimed at improving communication, independence and confidence.

You will collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum across pathways, use assessment to track progress and engage with families and other professionals. The school offers a supportive community, strong professional backing and opportunities to grow

Bracken Hill School is an all-age Special School for children aged 4 to 18 years, who have a range of complex educational needs with associated social and emotional difficulties, and challenging behaviour.

  We are looking for a teacher who will play a key role in delivering high-quality learning experiences for pupils with a range of complex needs. The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver engaging and purposeful learning that support pupils to develop communication, independence and confidence
  • Plan and adapt learning carefully so that activities help pupils secure the intended knowledge and skills
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and strengthen our curriculum across all pathways
  • Use assessment effectively to understand pupil progress and inform future learning
  • Contribute positively to the wider life of the school and work closely with families and other professionals.
